On Call Social Worker (contract/after hours)

 


 

On Call Social Worker (contract/after hours)

Responsible for crisis intervention counseling, information and referral activities, and child-placement generally during non-business hours of week evenings and nights (Monday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.), and on weekends from 5:00 p.m. Friday until 8:00 a.m. Monday. When needed, this position requires supervision of child care staff when the Program Director or another administrative officer is not available.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master's Level degree in a human services field, in accordance with State of Washington

Licensing Regulations for Child-Placing Agencies.  Exceptions may occur based upon professional experience, and qualifications of supervisor, if the State of Washington approves an Exception to Policy decision.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of Family Systems, child abuse and neglect and chemical dependency preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have valid Washington Driver's License and safe driving record.

 

Therapeutic Child Care Worker  (no current openings)

The Therapeutic Child Care position responsibilities include planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities to meet the individual needs of young children between the ages of 1 month to 5 years in a care and treatment program.

Assistant positions require BA/BS in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field with one year experience; AA in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field and at least five years experience; or a HSD/GED and nine years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in related field/or experience with no degree may require a minimum 9 units in ECE/Child Development; a valid driver’s license; and a safe driving record. $12.93/hour starting pay.

Lead positions require BA/BS in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field with two years experience; AA in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field and at least six years experience; CDA and 10 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. $14.38/hour starting pay.

*Degree in related field requires twenty clock hours or two college quarter credits of basic training that is STARS approved.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid WDL and a safe driving record.
  • First Aid Certification Child/Infant CPR
  • Certified HIV Blood borne pathogens trained

Substitute Therapeutic Child Care Worker

Substitute positions are available and are a way many of our teachers started out as they pursue their education or experience to qualify for the full time Therapeutic Childcare Position at Childhaven. Casual Substitutes earn $10.00 per hour. Responsibilities include implementing developmentally appropriate activities to meet the individual needs of young children between the ages of 1 month to 5 years in a care and treatment program.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must be 18 years of age with a willingness to work with at-risk preschool children. Child/Infant CPR certified and HIV/Blood Borne Pathogens trained preferred.

Foster Parents King County, WA

Provide a safe place for children, work at home, and earn extra income. Childhaven's Crisis Nursery, a child abuse and neglect prevention program, urgently needs caring individuals or families who are foster-care licensed, or willing to become licensed, to provide short-term, 24-hour emergency child care for children birth to six years in your own home. Providers receive training and monthly reimbursement. Choose from on-call two weeks a month for $525/mo OR per diem rate of $22.43 per child per day.
