For over 100 years, Childhaven’s work has established the organization as a pillar in the community helping children and families nurture healthy relationships and realize their potential.

Since 2016, Childhaven has been led by a visionary and transformational CEO dedicated to mission and collective impact. And it’s in that spirit that we announce a transition of leadership as current CEO, Jon Botten, will resign his position effective Summer, 2023. Botten will be transitioning out of Childhaven to spend more time with his grandchildren and pursue his passion for systemic change through consulting in the areas of nonprofit strategy, mergers, governance, and organizational development.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and Community Leadership Board, we are eternally grateful to Jon Botten for his vision, leadership and humility in guiding Childhaven on its most significant transformation in decades,” said Mike Rodden, Childhaven Board Chair. Rodden added, “Jon’s thoughtfulness and care for Childhaven is reinforced by his advanced notice, allowing us ample time for a search and smooth transition.”

We are currently moving into the search phase of the process in which we will be seeking Childhaven’s next CEO who will continue to propel our vision, mission, and goals in support of our existing FY23-25 strategic impact plan. This effort is being led by Childhaven’s Board of Directors via a Search Committee, in concert with the executive recruitment firm, Valtas. Botten will also be playing a critical role in helping with the search and transition efforts and will remain connected to Childhaven on a consultative basis after the new CEO is hired.
