Childhaven received a $50,000 grant from the Sunderland Foundation for capital improvements to our branches in Auburn and Burien. This project is essential to build our capacity to improve child and family outcomes in health, resilience, and education. This project will allow us to reach more children and families in communities where they live, learn, and play.

About the Sunderland Foundation

The Sunderland Foundation's mission is to improve quality of life through reinvesting in the communities where the Ash Grove Cement Company has historically operated. The Foundation makes grants annually to publicly-supported charitable organizations with tax exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Grants for planning, design, building construction, renovation, repairs and restoration of facilities are considered. Areas of interest include higher education, youth serving agencies, health facilities, community buildings, museums, civic projects, and energy efficient affordable housing projects sponsored by qualified tax-exempt organizations.
