Childhaven Receives Grant From Cambia Health Foundation

The Cambia Health Foundation has granted $50,000 to Childhaven for the project CenteringParenting. The funding will enable Childhaven to create a model for well-child care that brings together parents of same-age infants with health care providers.

Through CenteringParenting, Childhaven will support families and health care providers in creating a partnership of experiential learning, support and fun. Each Centering visit will begin with individual well-child health assessments, immunizations and developmental screenings.  The CenteringParenting model is strengths-based, culturally adaptable, grounded in building social support and social connectedness. It exemplifies a trauma-informed approach that recognizes and responds to the impact of complex trauma and toxic stress on individuals and families.
